Being down one goal on Friday, July 17, Michael Laidley netted a goal at 0:01 left on the clock to tie the game. Goaltender, Luke Smith, played a solid game even facing a penalty shot nearing the end of the third period. During this game Michael Laidley picked up his first hat trick of the season, and other goals were scored b y Devin Jordan and Jeremy Lytle. Picking up assists were Brad Gerrow (3), Lytle (2) and Ty Ellis.

The boys racked up a 4-2 victory for their team in game 2 at the Nepean tournament. Playing against Gloucester, Lytle (2) Jake Rutherford and Laidley led the team to victory. Neil Patterson had an assist. Patrick Stacey had two winning periods in net before stepping aside letting Smith finish the game in net.

Fury met their match in the third game against the host team, Nepean. A tough game saw the Fury on the losing end of a 4-1 match. Lytle scored the lone goal with Jordan getting an assist.

It wasn’t long before the Fury was back on their winning streak. A 6-1 win over the Kingston team was celebrated on Saturday night. Goal scorers were Laidley, Gerrow (2), Jordan, Lytle and Patrick Stacey. Picking up assists were Patterson, Gerrow, Laidley (2), Jake Rutherford, Lytle and Jordan.

The 2-1-1- record at the end of the preliminary round was enough to give the boys first place in their pool.

The next hurdle was to face off against Caledon in semi-final play. Giving all of their effort the boys were not able to overtake this team and secure a win. The final outcome of the game was Caledon 6 - Fury 2. Scoring goals was Laidley and Evan Connolly on assists from Jordan, Laidley and Lytle.
